| Intex Has Played a Significant Role in the Roll Out of PLDT’s NGN Network October 01, 2007 Intex has played a significant role in the NGN project of PLDT, acclaimed to be the first NGN network in Asia. In partnership with UTStarcom (UTS), Intex assisted in the sale, delivery, installation, commissioning and maintenance of access gateways and softswitch. NGN-Access Gateway, IAN 8K B1000 is a New Generation Multi- Service Access Network (MSAN) that supports narrowband and broadband services. For this project, Intex performs installation, commissioning and acceptance, including site preparation and integration to Network. It also provides on-site Technical Support (6 months) and Warranty Support (24 x 7 x 2yrs). Warranty services include alarm monitoring of AG network and software upgrade of nodes to higher version. The AG deployment for the 1st 50k lines started in October 2005. PLDT already ordered a total of 800k lines from UTS. To date, 600k lines has been installed and ready for service (RFS). The remaining 200k lines are still on-going. NGN-mSwicth is a softswitch-based solution that offers voice service to end consumers via broadband access. It provides complete solution including core switch, PSTN connectivity and management systems. For this project, Intex offers installation only and assists UTS on commissioning and acceptance. It also provides Warranty Support (24 x 7 x 24yrs) involving alarm monitoring and low level support. Intex also does installation, commissioning and acceptance of NOKIA IPDSLAM, which is still part of the NGN network of PLDT. The deployment of the first 5K lines will start 2nd week of April 2008. Intex has also been involved in another project based on GEPON technology, otherwise known as Fiber to the Home. This provides a wider infrastructure that enables the convergence of voice, data & video at higher speed and better clarity. This was launched last July 2005 in the high-end residential markets of Ayala Alabang, Rockwell & Essensa. Complemented with a good content, subscribers will be able to access a vast video library and watch their favorite movies or videos anytime. |
